Pricing and payment

How much does a project cost?

Every project is quoted on its own, so there’s no price list. Tell me what you need through the quote form and I’ll send back a fixed quote with a timescale. Quotes are valid for 30 days.

My rates sit a little under the market rate for studio-quality work. If you later want something the quote doesn’t cover, I’ll quote for it separately before doing it.

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Yes. A 50% deposit books your project in, and work starts once it’s paid. The deposit is non-refundable once work has started.

The other 50% is due at the end. You pay the balance before the full-resolution files are released, then I send them over. How it works shows where both payments fall.

How a project runs

How quickly will you reply, and how long will my project take?

I reply to every enquiry within 24 hours.

Turnaround depends on the size of the job, so it’s set in each quote. You’ll know the timescale before you agree to anything. If you have a deadline, put it in the quote form and I’ll say in my reply whether I can meet it.

How many rounds of changes are included?

Two rounds of changes are included in every quote. I share drafts, you send your feedback and I make the changes.

If you want more after that, I’ll quote for the extra rounds before doing them. One list of feedback per round works best, so nothing gets missed.

What should I send in a brief?

Once you’ve agreed the quote, I’ll ask for the brief. The useful things are:

  • your logo and brand files, with fonts and colours if you have them
  • what the work is for and where it will be used, such as your website, packaging or social channels
  • examples of the look you like, from any brand
  • for imagery, clear photos of your product from a few angles
  • your deadline

It doesn’t need to be polished. A few lines and some screenshots are a good start, and I’ll ask about anything that’s missing.

Do we need to meet?

No. A project can run from start to finish without a meeting. Ask for a quote through the quote form, or send me a message on WhatsApp if you’d rather talk it through and we can arrange a call.

Files you receive

What files will I receive?

It depends on the service:

  • Design: a print-ready PDF for anything printed, plus PNG and SVG files for screens and the web
  • Motion: MP4 video in the sizes you need, for example vertical for stories and widescreen for your website
  • Imagery: high-resolution JPEG or PNG files

If your printer, platform or web developer needs another format, say so in the brief and I’ll tell you whether I can supply it.

Using the work

Who owns the finished work?

When you’ve paid in full, the licence to use the final work passes to you.

The terms of business set out exactly what that covers, and you can read them before you agree the quote.

Will you show my project in your portfolio?

Unless you opt out, the studio may show the finished work in its portfolio. If you’d rather keep a project private, say so when you agree the quote and it won’t be shown.

How the work is made

Do you use AI tools?

Yes, and I’d rather be open about it. Some of the imagery and motion is made with AI production tools. Every piece is directed and finished by a designer: I set the brief and the look, choose and refine what the tools produce, and finish the work before you see it.

It’s how you can have product images without a photoshoot (you may have seen this called AI product photography). It’s also part of why the work is quick to turn around and priced a little under the market rate.

Can I use work made with AI tools in my business?

Yes. When you’ve paid in full, you get a licence to use the final work, as allowed by the commercial licences of the tools used to make it. The terms of business set this out in full.

Two more points:

  • You’re responsible for any brand assets and likenesses you supply, so only send logos, photos and other material you have the right to use.
  • The studio never depicts real people without their consent.

Where the studio works

Do you work with businesses anywhere in the UK?

Yes. The studio works remotely, with businesses anywhere in the UK. Briefs, drafts and feedback happen by email, WhatsApp or a call, and the final files are sent to you online.

The studio is set up for established small businesses that care how they look, but anyone who needs design, motion or imagery is welcome to ask for a quote.

Still got a question?

Send it over and I’ll reply within 24 hours.
